3D Animation has been my life since I created my first object in 1988 using Sculpt Animate 4D on an Amiga 500 with an incredible 1Mb of RAM. Although it was the best 3D animation software available for "mere-mortals" and carried a price tag of around 400 pounds, (at the time the most expensive program on the Amiga by miles), it didn't have anything like texture mapping, anti-aliasing or even parenting!!! Rendering full sized frames of animation using ray-tracing would take days!!! In 1991 I started work at a small television station where I was introduced to the Video Toaster and Lightwave 3D. 8 years and hours of animation later I still use Lightwave, (now 5.6) on a daily basis creating graphics for television commercials. A few scenes from some of the full length animations I've done over the last couple of years can be seen at my gallery. Please take a look. For the last few months my latest project has been learning Alias|Wavefront Maya. It's amazing real world dynamics and powerful NURB and polygon based modeler makes for a 3D animation package for the new millenium. With a completely different interface to Lightwave, it takes a little getting used too!!!
